Brain Tumors.
Brain tumors are abnormal growths of cells in the brain.
Symptoms of Brain Tumors:
Tumors are generally separated into two categories. Primary brain tumors arise within the head itself, and metastatic tumors spread from different areas of the body. Brain tumor symptoms vary depending on the location and type of tumor. Symptoms are typically slow and progressive and vary based on the type and location of the tumor. Some of the most common brain tumor symptoms include:
- Headaches
- Seizures
- Weakness or numbness on one side of the body
- Speech problems
- Vision impairment
- Trouble swallowing
- Hearing loss
Brain tumors can affect anyone, but most commonly occur in adults. Typically, a brain tumor is diagnosed using an MRI.
Brain Tumor Treatment:
Brain tumors can be either benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous), and treatment will depend on the individual patient’s case. For most tumors, the best treatment is surgical removal of the tumor. Radiation and chemotherapy can also be used as primary treatment options for brain tumors. Most patients will need regular follow-ups and imaging.
